So yes, I did miss last Fridays post but now this is the follow up to the last post on 'How to get Glowing Skin'
This week is all about the recommended products that are perfect to use to achieve the glowing look.
I want to also direct this post on the latest trend 'Strobing' I did speak about this in the last blog post but this trend is basically all about using illuminating products of the high points of the face. So no more contouring with darker shades or highlighting with lighter concealers!
Using a flattering Powder, Cream or Liquid accentuating the high points of the face such as your cheekbones, brow bone, cupids bow and any areas you want to 'Bring out' on the face.
This is also a trend that is 10x quicker than highlighting and contouring.
Wanting to learn this trend? Then feel free to message me to book a lesson whether you just want it based on a certain trend or a full makeup day/night lesson.
Its fun, exciting and lets you learn so many tips and tricks including plenty of things you thought you already knew.
SKIN
First off there's nothing better than you own skin's natural glow! There's no better way of achieving this than paying attention to a regular skincare regime.
I am now offering FREE SKINCARE CONSULTATIONS to anyone interested in updating/creating a full skincare routine.
From working with NuSkin (my go to skincare products) I can highly recommend the 'Polishing Peel' which is pretty much a Microdermabrasion in a tube!! for a fraction of the price. This product literally removes all the dead skin from the dermis (which is the protective layer of the skin) and leaves you with that fresh, glowing, natural look.
Another of my favourites is the Moisture Mask.
If you have read my any previous skincare posts, I have always recommended to do a face mask at least once a week to clear any extra dirt and oils in the skin and this moisture mask is perfect to create that top glow on your skin every day. Even after applying your makeup.
Remember - Skincare should be your most important product to invest in, so seek my advice in this area, you won't be disappointed.
PRIMERS
Another step to create that glowing look is a Radiance Primer - I would recommend
Chanel - Le Blanc de Chanel £33
Apply this before foundation for a glow, or mix it in to get a more dewy finish. Even better, it manages to prolong foundation hold as well as perfectly evening out skin tone, thanks to the liquorice extract in it.
Guerlain - L'or £46
This primer is perfect for hydration as well as radiance, with the 24cart gold pieces floating about, these resolve into the skin to give out a perfected glow and moisturised skin which also keeps the makeup on top lasting longer.
Dior - Glow Maximizer £29
A perfect one for a summer sun kissed primer with the deep yellow/golden undertone illuminator that is perfect applied in the high points of your face.
Bourjois - Happy Light Luminous Primer & Serum £10.99
A budget friendly price, and a primer & serum in one! This leaves skin feeling super soft with a subtle glow. Don’t be put off by the pink colour of the serum - it will disappear once massaged into your face.
Although! If you already have a primer which you are happy with (maybe yours controls oil ect) then you can still use that then apply
MAC Strobe Cream - £24.50 -- This product with brighten and clarify your skin with the iridescent particles and antioxidants which enhance the effects of light on all skin and lighting conditions.
I also recommend to mix this with any matte concealers that you want to turn into a illuminating concealer for the day :D
CONCEALERS
Do not apply these concealers over spots! I don't want you illuminating those blemishes for the sunlight to attract, keep these for your under eyes only.
YSL Touche Eclat £25
The most raved about illuminating concealer - do i need to explain myself anymore?
They have also now released the colour correctors in Green, Yellow and Purple which are a must for anyone with uneven colour pigmentation under eyes.
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer £22
Perfect for those who want a more heavier coverage under the eyes as well as the illuminating effect (My daily under-eye concealer)
Loreal - Lumi Magique Concealer £8.49
A budget friendly one which brightens the appearance of eyes, on a twisting pen form.
FOUNDATIONS
Dior Star £32.50
One of my all time favourite. Not only does this weightless, medium coverage foundation give a radiant finish but every time you use it, it helps boost your natural radiance and give an even finish diminishing pigmentation.
YSL Touche Eclat £32.50
Not the Concealer but the foundation version that YSL created. 20 Years after the launch of the concealer finally gets turned into a foundation.
Great for those with dry skin, and the moisture is brilliant. This foundation highlights and contours the face with the opaque powders and textures to conceal and highlight the skin with a weightless fluid.
Armani - Luminous Silk £37
A luxurious foundation, known to be used by the Kardashians. This product is smooth, silky and has the most beautiful illuminating powers in one bottle. You'll be addicted and can guarantee this will be our go-to summer foundation.
Rimmel - Wake Me Up £8.99
A high street brand with such a great foundation. Also known to be the dupe foundation of Chanel's Vitalumiere. This product can't get any better for the price, Wake me up perks up the skin with a brightening effect ready to set you for the day and look healthy for hours.
CREAM/LIQUID HIGHLIGHTERS
Nars Multiple Sticks £29
Says it in the name - Multiple can be used in more than one place. Eyeshadows, blushers, lips and highlighting, of course depending on the colours but my favourite is 'Copacabana' its a iridescent cool pink and I just draw it on my cheek bones and brow bone and work in with my fingers.
You can also buy these highlighters in a liquid form, deepening on how you prefer your texture. £23
Benefit High Beam £19.50
One of my first ever liquid highlights, and I still recommend and re-use to this day. A soft pinky highlighter, also available now in a warm golden highlight called 'Sun Beam' for those with a warmer skin tone.
Chanel - Soleil Tan De Chanel £32
One of my all time favourite summer bronzers is also available in this dreamy highlighting liquid. The warm golden tones in this highlighter is the best you can get. Gives the most stunning sun kissed bronze glow - my recommendation to anyone going on a summer holiday and don't want to wear much makeup.
POWDER HIGHLIGHTERS
MAC - 'Soft and Gentle' £24
The perfect powder illuminator for any skin tone, this attracts the lighting in the most flattering way and doesn't leave that powdery finish.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks £33
Known to be one of the top rated highlighters, which now come in a range of shades, one for everyone's skin tone so you can not miss out.
MUA (Superdrug) - Undress your skin £3
You may think this is too good to be true but the reviews on this MUA product blew the beauty media off their feet.
These are one of the top powder highlighters out there and at £3 there's no question about it.
Again no powdery finish but instead a soft luxurious highlight to accentuate your natural features.
Hope this helped you choose your spring/summer Highlighter for this years Strobing trend.
